In the US, Tesla’s updated 2024 Model 3 is currently accessible

The updated "Highland" Model 3 lists a reduced peak speed but has a sleeker new front end for better aerodynamics.

Tesla has introduced an updated version of its Model 3 sedan in North America, following its release in Europe, the Middle East, and China last fall. The refreshed model, reportedly codenamed “Highland” during development, brings several notable changes to the popular electric sedan.

Visually, the new Model 3 boasts a sleeker design with a refined front end. The distinctive bump has been removed, featuring a more aerodynamic hood and low-profile headlights. This design optimization is aimed at maximizing aerodynamics and, subsequently, enhancing the vehicle’s range. Additionally, two new colors, stealth gray and ultra red, have been introduced.

The 2024 Model 3 refresh is now the exclusive option listed for ordering on Tesla’s configurator. Notably, there are now only two versions available instead of three: the Long Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD) model with dual motors and the more affordable Rear-Wheel Drive version. The previously available Performance model is currently not an option.

The beginning pricing for both models is the same as it was for the models from the prior year.

However, there is a change in the top speed specifications. The new 2024 Model 3 lists a top speed of 125mph for both versions, while the 2023 rear-wheel model had a top speed of 140mph, the Long Range reached 145mph, and the Performance model could achieve up to 162mph.

Tesla emphasizes several upgrades for the new model, including new acoustic glass for a quieter cabin, improved ride quality through updated suspension tuning, the use of “more sophisticated” materials for the interior, ventilated seats, customizable ambient lighting, a brighter center touchscreen with smaller bezels and improved contrast, and an upgraded sound system featuring up to 17 speakers.

In summary, Tesla’s 2024 Model 3 refresh introduces design enhancements, improved aerodynamics, updated features, and a simplified ordering structure in North America.
