Father of Delhi University student, who was murdered, emotionally breaks down on camera; two individuals apprehended

On Monday, while addressing reporters, the father of the Delhi University student who lost his life outside his college expressed overwhelming emotions. The victim, Nikhil Chauhan, a 19-year-old student, was fatally stabbed outside Aryabhatta College of DU on Sunday.

2 Individuals Taken into Custody in Murder Investigation

In relation to the homicide of the freshman student from Aryabhatta College at Delhi University, two individuals have been detained. The suspects have been identified as Rahul, a resident of Bindapur in Delhi, and Haroon, who resides in Janakpuri.

Nikhil Chauhan, who tragically passed away, was enrolled as a student in the School of Open Learning at the university. He was in his first year, pursuing a BA Honours degree in Political Science, and resided in Paschim Vihar.

Fatal Stabbing Claims Life of Delhi Student

A few days prior to the incident, he was confronted and assaulted by students with whom he had engaged in a dispute. Allegedly, these students had behaved inappropriately towards Nikhil’s girlfriend, leading to a heated argument between them.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Manoj C from South West Delhi, the students involved in the altercation with Nikhil have been identified as Rahul and Yash.

In an act of vengeance, Rahul and his accomplices attacked Nikhil outside the college entrance on Sunday, resulting in his fatal stabbing. Nikhil was immediately rushed to Charak Palika Hospital in Moti Bagh, where medical professionals pronounced him deceased upon arrival.

Following the incident, a case was filed, and law enforcement confirmed the identification of the suspects. The police officials also stated their intention to review the footage captured by CCTV cameras positioned in and around the area of the crime to determine the chronological order of events.
