Elon Musk denies revenue sharing talks between Tesla and xAI

Elon Musk recently rejected claims that his artificial intelligence business, xAI, had begun conversations with Tesla about a revenue-sharing agreement. The Wall Street Journal said that Tesla might license xAI’s technology to develop its self-driving and driver-assistance systems, potentially sharing future earnings with the AI business. However, Musk denied these allegations, claiming that Tesla does not need to license xAI technology. He used his platform, X (previously Twitter), to reject the reports, calling them false.

The story believed that xAI may help Tesla create features like voice assistants and AI software for the Transformers human robot, but Musk confirmed that xAI and Tesla were not in such negotiations.

Elon Musk’s enterprises continue to create headlines in the fast growing realm of artificial intelligence. Recently, a rumor emerged claiming that Musk’s AI business, xAI, was in talks with Tesla about a revenue-sharing agreement, with Tesla potentially licensing xAI technology. The proposed agreement was supposed to help Tesla improve its self-driving technology and other advanced features. However, Musk has strongly disputed these allegations, claiming that such an arrangement between the two companies is unnecessary.

The rumor came from a Wall Street Journal report claiming that Tesla may incorporate xAI’s advanced models into its driver-assistance systems and autonomous vehicle technologies. This would reportedly involve xAI supplying AI technologies and Tesla contributing a portion of its future revenue as compensation. The report also claimed that xAI’s technology might improve Tesla’s artificial intelligence capabilities, notably in areas such as voice assistants and humanoid robotics like the Tesla Transformers robot.

Elon Musk responded quickly to these charges on his social media network, X (previously known as Twitter). Musk responded by labeling the news as “not accurate” and emphasizing that Tesla did not need to license xAI’s technology. While both firms are intimately tied under Musk’s leadership, he added that there had been no official negotiations regarding revenue sharing or technology licensing.
